About Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a form of bodywork, originating in Japan, that uses a combination of acupressure techniques to promote relaxation and wellbeing.
Tailored to your specific needs, a session can incorporate stretching, mobilisation of joints, applied use of bodyweight, holding techniques and the manipulation of pressure points.
Based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu treats the person as a whole. Taking into account a multitude of health indicators we will work to find the root causes of imbalance while addressing the more immediate manifestations in the body and mind.
An initial appointment will include the taking of a brief medical history, as well as speaking with you about any issues you are particularly hoping to address.
Treatments take place fully clothed, without the use of products such as balms or oils and are usually around 45 minutes in length.
